23-year-old, Lebanese-born Mica Penniman (aka Mika) hands us this latest pearl in the size acceptance movement. A celebration of the (larger) female form, catchy lyrics, a campy beat--check it!
Hi! Love the blog.... can anyone recommend a podcast that covers similar topics: body image, eating disorder recovery, food/eating/weight issues, but not a "diet" or "fitness" focused one?? Thanks!
Ah yes...this one's been blaring on my iPod for a couple of month's now. There are actually a few gems on that album of his! Well worth checking out if you haven't already.
I really hate this song - not only does it promote a scary message that fat is sexy in a country with an every-growing obesity problem - but the women in the video make me want to puke. I can see why Mika, being a bit of an odd-ball, might want to help other social outcasts feel accepted - but this is just wrong wrong wrong!!

how cute is he?! That's awesome.
I totally saw this and was hoping you'd post it!!! He's adorable and the video is fantastic - I dig his disco meets Queen vibe.

I've been watching this on repeat all morning.
Cute song, but you'll notice it's a gay guy going on about "big beautiful girls", not, say, Justin Timberlake.
