Thanks to one of my readers for forwarding me this, Gawker's tongue-in-cheek commentary on the recent obesity-as-virus news item.
Also, I checked out Gawker this morning for an interesting bit on fried Oreos. I must confess--until a few months ago, I never knew there was such a thing. They fry Oreos? Wow.
And yes, that is a picture of yours truly back in the day. I hope no one is offended by the bagel. ; )

Oh yes, that bagel is quite offensive!! I'm never reading your blog again.
Hey Dr. Stace! I like the new layout, and I love the picture of little-you!! :) Adorable!
Talking about frying odd things... I saw a show with Paula Dean on the food network a while back on which she made - get this! - deep-fried butter!! Can you even believe it??!
Hope things are going well for you!
hugs,
ej
Likin the pic and new layout. As a person who loves the salty-sweet popcorn combo (Popcorn and choc-covered raisins back and forth at the movie theatre is a must try)...I am extremely intrigued by this fried oreo thing.
What won't people fry?? Ugh. Just the thought makes me ill...
You are quite adorable, dr. Stacy!
I knew about the fried Snickers, but not the Oreos. Oy. (Maybe I'm just Snickers-partial.)
Such a cute picture. (Nice new design, also.)
Bagel is okaaaaaaayy, but ... no salmon? No capers? No tomatoes?
Geeeeez. :D
Love the picture. you should come to TX...EVERYTHING is fried....EVERYTHING!
PS22, I've seen fried oreos on the streets of NY. Can't say I've ever tried one though.
I know they do fried twinkies too. Wonder what happens to the cream filling. ;)
Thank you for sharing that before and after of the magazine cover!
Of course Faith looked beautiful just as she was in the original photo, and if u ask me she needed no touchups, but if that's what they choose to do - i think it's really important for all of us to see.
LOL so sorry, i accidentally left the comment on the wrong blog!
I meant to leave it HERE:

Sorry dr stacey, didn't mean to litter your blog with mistaken comments haha.
I tried a bite of a fried Milky Way once -- no thanks! I do love fried green tomatoes, though. And once I saw fried Coke.
